Groups & Playlists

#Group cues

A Group holds subcues. When fired, the group can run them in different ways:

  • Timeline (default) — subcues fire at their respective offset times within the group's timeline, creating a pre-programmed sequence.
  • Start First — fires only the first subcue. Move to the next subcue with GO.
  • Start Random — picks one subcue at random and fires it.

Drag cues onto a Group to nest them. Groups can be nested inside other groups. The group's total running length is shown in the LENGTH column and is calculated automatically from its subcues — honouring each subcue's trigger (a follow runs sequentially, GO/time runs in parallel) and any wait times.

Subcues can have their own trigger mode (Follow, Time, Immediate) within the group — so a group can contain a chain of events that unfolds automatically. GO is reserved for top-level cues: only the parent group takes the operator's GO, and cues inside a group can't be set to GO.

#Playlist cues

A Playlist cue plays a list of audio files one after another.

  • Add files with the + button or by dragging.
  • Shuffle: randomise the play order.
  • Repeat: loop the playlist.
  • Crossfade: overlap consecutive tracks by N seconds.

A Playlist is ideal for pre-show music, scene change underscoring, or any situation where you want sequential audio without individual cues for each track.
