Cue Types — Timing & Flow
These cues control the flow of your show rather than playing content.
#Wait
Pauses the follow chain for a set number of seconds, then fires the next auto-follow cue. Useful as a built-in delay between events without external timers.
#Fade
Fades another cue's volume or video opacity up or down over a set time.
- Target: the cue number to fade.
- Duration: how long the fade takes.
- Fade to: the final level (0 = silence/invisible, 1 = full).
- Curve: the shape of the ramp — Linear, S-Curve (gentle ease in and out), Exponential (slow start, fast finish), Logarithmic (fast start, slow finish), or Custom. S-Curve usually sounds the most natural for music. Custom shows a small curve editor: drag the points to draw your own ramp, double-click empty space to add a point, double-click a point to remove it.
- Works on audio and video/image/text cues.
- Double-fade prevention: when a Fade cue targets another cue, the matching fade field on the target grays out with a lock icon so the two ramps can't stack. A fade to silence (or with Stop on complete) locks the target's Fade Out; a fade up to a level locks the target's Fade In. Disable or delete the Fade cue (or clear its target) to unlock the field.
#Stop
Stops a single playing cue.
- Target: the cue to stop, picked from the list. A Stop cue always targets one cue (targeting a group stops all its subcues).
- Fade out: optionally fade the target to silence (and fade video/image/text/camera to transparent) over N seconds, then stop it. Leave at 0 for an instant cut. A curve picker appears when a fade time is set — it shapes the audio ramp.
- To stop everything at once, use a Reset cue (the chainable PANIC) or the PANIC button on the transport bar. Older shows with a Stop cue targeting "*" still work, but new Stop cues can't be set to stop-all.
#Devamp
Ends a looping cue gracefully: the cue finishes its current loop and then stops, instead of looping forever.
- Target: the cue number that is currently looping.
- Fade out: optionally fade the cue out over N seconds on the final loop.
#Group
Holds a collection of subcues (child cues) that fire together.
- Drag cues into a Group to nest them.
- Group mode: - Timeline — subcues fire at their offset times along the group's timeline. - Start First — fires only the first subcue; useful for "pick the next item." - Start Random — picks one subcue at random and fires it.
- The group's duration is calculated from its subcues automatically.
- Groups can be nested inside other groups.
#Notes
A non-firing note in the cue list — like a page marker, section header, or a block of presenter notes. (Previously called a Memo cue; existing shows are unaffected.) Use the Extras tab to add notes visible only in the inspector. Useful for stage directions, operator notes, or section breaks. The NOTES field is a rich-text editor with live spell checking — see "Operator notes" under The Cue List for the formatting tools.
