Cue Types — Network Video
These cues receive video streams from other software on the same Mac or network.
#Syphon In
Receives a Syphon video stream from another application on the same Mac and displays it on a video output.
- App name: the Syphon server's application name.
- Source name: the specific Syphon output (leave blank to accept any from that app).
- Output: choose which video output slot to display on. The cue holds output until stopped with a Stop cue or PANIC.
#NDI In
Receives an NDI video stream over the network.
- Source name: the NDI source identifier (full or partial name match).
- Output slot: the video output to display on. Same hold-until-stopped semantics as Syphon In.
#Choosing between NDI and Syphon
- Use Syphon when the source is another app on the same Mac (zero network overhead).
- Use NDI when the source is on a different machine or when network distribution is needed.
