Cue Types — Media
These cue types play back content on audio or video outputs.
#Audio
Plays an audio file (WAV, AIFF, MP3, FLAC, AAC, etc.).
- Trim: drag the waveform handles to set an in-point and out-point. Click the waveform to set the in-point; ⇧-click to set the out-point.
- Slices: ⌥-click the waveform to add a slice boundary, splitting the file into sections. Each section shows a play-count badge along the bottom — click it to cycle ×1 → ×2 → ×3 → ×4 → ∞. A section marked ∞ vamps (repeats) until a Devamp cue releases it, then playback continues into the next section — vamp on the verse, then continue, without splitting the file. Drag a boundary to move it; double-click a boundary to remove it. Slices replace the whole-file Loop setting while present.
- Fade in / fade out: ramp the level at the start or end.
- Loop: repeat a set number of times or infinitely (set Loop Count to 0).
- Rate: change playback speed (0.25× – 4.0×).
- Pitch: shift pitch in cents (±2400 cents = ±24 semitones), independent of rate.
- Effects: open the FX tab to add AudioUnit effects per cue.
- Routing: use the Routing tab to choose which audio outputs this cue feeds.
- Devamp: use a Devamp cue to gracefully end a looping Audio cue.
#Video
Plays a video file to one or more video outputs.
- Output routing: select which outputs in the Routing tab.
- Fade in / fade out: crossfade on play and stop.
- Trim: set in-point and out-point.
- Colour correction: brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, blur (Playback tab).
- Video Effects chain: stacked filters (vignette, sepia, posterize, etc.) — FX tab.
- Corner-pin: warp the image to four draggable corner points (Playback tab).
- Embedded audio: the video's audio track routes through the audio output matrix.
#Image
Displays a still image (PNG, JPEG, TIFF, HEIC).
- Fade in / fade out dissolve.
- Hold duration: how long the image stays before auto-clearing (0 = hold forever).
- Stop on next GO: clear the image when the next cue fires. Works alongside a hold time — whichever happens first (the hold expiring or the next GO) clears the image.
- The same colour correction and Video Effects chain as Video cues applies.
- Blend mode: how the image composites over the content underneath it — Normal, Add, Screen, Multiply, Lighten, or Darken. Use Screen for glows/light leaks over video, Multiply for vignettes and frames, Add for particles. Fades ease every mode toward "no effect", so a fading Multiply overlay never dips the picture toward black. Blend modes render on live outputs; the virtual monitor previews Normal only.
- Multiple outputs: send the same image to several screens at once.
- Multiple image cues can display on the same output at once — e.g. a logo held in the top corner while other images (and videos) fire underneath. Firing another image cue no longer replaces the one on screen; each image holds and clears on its own Hold / Stop on next GO / Fade settings, or via a Stop or Fade cue that targets it. Use Cue Geometry to position each image in its own region.
- NDI / Syphon outputs: image cues can also be routed to the NDI and Syphon outputs, just like video cues. The still image is streamed continuously so receivers that connect after the cue fires still see it; it stops when the image clears.
#Text
Overlays styled text on top of any currently-playing video or image.
- Content, font size, text colour, background colour.
- Alignment: left, centre, right.
- Position: top, middle, bottom of the output. Top- and bottom-positioned text is automatically inset from the edge (~5% of the output height) so it clears a border or drape masking the top or bottom of an LED wall.
- Geometry: custom width, height, X/Y offset on the output.
- Timer mode: Off, Count up, or Count down — use {timer} in the content to embed a live clock. Count down needs a duration, set in H : M : S. Without {timer} the value appears on its own line.
- Fade in / fade out.
- Text Hold (Playback tab): how long the text stays on screen after it fires, entered as MM:SS.s. A hold of 0 means hold until the next GO (shown as "∞ hold"); any value above 0 auto-releases the text after that time. "Stop on next GO" clears the text when any later cue fires — combine the two and whichever happens first (the hold expiring or the next GO) clears the text.
- Text fires as an overlay and doesn't interrupt a playing video/image cue.
- Multiple text cues can display on the same output at once — e.g. a title pinned to the top and a countdown in the middle. Firing a second text cue no longer clears the first; each holds and clears on its own Text Hold / Stop on next GO / Fade settings, or via a Stop or Fade cue that targets it.
#Camera
Shows a live camera feed on a video output.
- Device picker: choose any capture device connected to the Mac, or leave on System Default.
- Output routing, geometry, corner-pin, and fade in/out work the same as Video cues.
#Mic
Captures a live microphone or line input and routes it through the audio output matrix.
- Device picker: choose any audio input device.
- Gain: 0.0 – 2.0 (1.0 = unity).
- Monitor: send input to the Booth Monitor output while recording/routing.
#Noise
Generates pink noise, white noise, or a sine tone through the cue's output sends — for system tuning, speaker checks, and masking, with no media file needed.
- Signal: Pink noise, White noise, or Sine tone (with an adjustable frequency in Hz).
- Duration: run for a set number of seconds and complete (so follow chains continue), or 0 to run until stopped.
- The signal generates at -12 dBFS; the cue volume and per-send faders trim from there.
- Routing, fade in/out, fade curves, pause/resume, Stop and Fade cue targeting, ducking, and the booth monitor all behave exactly like an Audio cue.
- OUTPUT WALK: turn on Walk mode to step the signal through the output bank one output at a time — the same test as the Audio Outputs window's Output Test, but fireable from the cue list. Pick the start/end output numbers (end 0 = through the last output) and the hold time per output. The walk skips Booth and LTC and any output without a device; the follow chain continues when the last output finishes. Walk mode ignores the cue's routing sends.
#Playlist
Plays a sequence of audio files, one after another.
- Add files with the + button or by dragging.
- Shuffle and repeat options.
- Crossfade: overlap consecutive tracks by N seconds.
- Inherits the Audio cue's looping, routing, and fade options.
